It’s actually a really sad circumstance. Culturally speaking, the majority of our generation has come to believe and accept that heavily auto-tuned and computer generated vocals and instruments played to repetitive, completely purposeless lyrics written by god only knows who, is good music. Turn on a radio, it’s the same 15 songs, all of which share the common theme of basically putting artists who are actually talented to shame, played on a loop on every single station. People are lazy, they want everything handed to them. Research some music? God, no. It’s turned into getting into a car, turning on the radio and hearing Taylor Swift’s “new” song that came out last November. I have seen many of the artists written in about in this blog. I have also seen Taylor Swift. Who puts on the more showy, extravagant show? Taylor of course. She has the money for it. Money to put on a show comes straight out of the band’s revenue. Even with a small set with nothing extra, I would choose to see Saves the Day or The Dangerous Summer again over Taylor Swift in a heartbeat. Yet, these bands get next to no recognition.
